I had a problem whereby this log file was partially corrupted and
could not be read, so I deleted it to allow SSAS to recreate it.
Now none of the processing errors are being logged; I get this message
in the log file:
An error occurred while starting the error log.(Source: \\?\D:
\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.2\OLAP\Log\msmdsrv.log, Type: 3, Category:
289, Event ID: 0xC1210010)
I tried pointing the logging at a different file but got the same result
Does anyone have any ideas please?
Thanks
Rachel
BTW, I have applied the SQL Server SP2 via the original patch KB921896 and then the hotfix KB933508.
I tried reapplying the hotfix but am still getting the same error message though a slightly different number: Type: 1, Category: 289, Event ID: 0x41210000
|||and the error in the application event log from SQL Dumper is:
EventType sql90exception, P1 msmdsrv.exe, P2 9.0.3050.0, P3 45e901a7, P4 msmdsrv.exe, P5 9.0.3050.0, P6 45e901a7, P7 0, P8 00224fbc, P9 00000000, P10 NIL.
Does this mean anything to anybody?
