Error loading resource string in SP2

After I installed the SP2 and reboot the server, when I try to print the a
report, it keep pop up the error message say"Error loading resource string",
after I click many times, I got the printer properties window, many text in
the button are disappear, but I still could print it out.
Any idea?
ThanksMy guess is that you had the beta of SP2. If so then you need to clear out
then per Brian Welcker (MS): You need to clean out any older versions of the
controls from your C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files directory.

Error in translated error string

I didn't find a good thread to put this, but since I noticed it in the SQL Server Express version I put it here:

Here is an error I get in Swedish:
"Konvertering av nvarchar v?rdet av typen Ny! till datatypen int misslyckades."

The error string is however not correct. In English it reads:
Syntax error converting the nvarchar value 'Ny!' to a column of data type int.

And in Swedish it should be:
"Konvertering av nvarchar-v?rdet 'Ny!' till datatypen int misslyckades."
or even
"Konvertering av nvarchar-v?rdet 'Ny!' till ett f?lt av datatypen int misslyckades."

Is there an address to send this kind of errors to?

Kind regards,
Andreas Jansson
No, this is truly an implemtation error. You are trying to pass a value to SQL Server which is not numeric although SQL Server expected that type. It would ne nice for us to know where you get the error and what you are doing to receive this error.

I'm fully aware of the implementation errror (which has been corrected). What I'm concerned about is the erroneous translation of that exact error message into Swedish.

Translated back into English the message would read:
Converting the nvarchar value of type Ny! to data type int failed.

So in the Swedish error we read that (the nvarchar value) Ny! is a type, which it of course is not.

Also, there should be a hyphen between "nvarchar" and "v?rdet": "nvarchar-v?rdet".

|||If its just a translation error in your opinion, should should file this as a bug on connect.microsoft.com to correct this in the next versions of SQL Server. You can have a look at the sysmessages in SQL Server (sysmessages table in the master database) to see which string is parametrized here.

please let me know the solurion of this error.

What the error msg means is that you are trying to insert a value that is larger than what the column can take. Check your column lengths in the temp table and the data coming in from your SELECT statment. Apparently, you have crossed the limit somewhere.

I made it working. Its not the column length that creating problem.

Error in formula

Hi All,

I get the "A String is required here" error with my formula and it higlights the line in bold.

If {@.ScheduledTasks} = 0 then
"N/S"
Else If {@.TotalTasks} = 0 then
"N/D"
Else
(sum({@.TimelyCOmplete},{@.Group_CrewUnit})/(sum({@.TimelyCOmplete},{@.Group_CrewUnit}) + sum({@.MissedTasks},{@.Group_CrewUnit}) + sum({@.LateComplete},{@.Group_CrewUnit}))) * 100

Thanks in advanceYour third line will return an integer - all statements must return the same type. Wrap the third line in ToText().

Error in connect to SQL Sever

I have a problem with the connection to the DB…

I wrote this connection string in the web.config

<addname="dbConnectionString"connectionString="server=(local);database=2C2M;Trusted_connection = True"providerName="System.Data.SqlClient"/>But then when I creat ( SQLdataSource ) and chose this connection , this message is appeared

DataBase schema could not be retrieved for this connection . Please make sure the connection setting are correct and that the database is online. An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the sever . When connection to SQL Server 2005 , this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default setting SQL Server does not allow remote connections. ( provider : Named Pipes provider , error : 40 – Could not open connection toSQL Server )

How I can solve this problem ?

Note : I use SQL EXRESS SERVER

you need to change the connection string then try it, in order to get the well formed connection string do the following:

on your desktop create a new text document and change its extension to .udl
