error loading the report in the designer

Hi all,
I'm working on rs2005, and i cannot load any server report in the
designer.
i get the following error:
"One or more errors encountered while loading the designer. The errors
are listed below.
Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation "
I can load local reports, and i can load the server reports on other
computers.
It just suddenly stopped working in my laptop, and no reinstallation
helps (at least not the visual studio, framework, or the report server)
Does anyone hav an idea?

EyalWell, i found the solution eventually,
After getting a message "font verdana does not support style regular"
while trying to load a winforms into the designer, i deleted all my
fonts from my computer, and copied them from another computer.
both the winform problem and the reporting services problem has gone
forever.
it seems that a corrupted font has crashed the visual studio designer.

Error installing SQL 2005 Reporting Services September CTP

When installing the September SQL 2005 CTP, the installation of
Reporting Services fails with the message: "The setup has encountered
an unexpected error while Setting reporting service and share point
exclusion path. The error is: Fatal error during installation."

Sharepoint (not sure if that's what is referred to by "share point" up
above) is installed and working on the box in question. Any thoughts?
KenWell, I appear to have worked around it by uninstalling SharePoint
(both the "portal" and the "services" flavors). I reran setup, and it
worked that time. Luckily I didn't need SP on this box (yeah, yeah,
and it's still beta . . . )

Ken,
I tried a few times to get Reporting Services 2005 and Windows
SharePoint Services 2 working on the same box and failed with earlier
builds.
The specific problem you are seeing, I guess, is that say
http://localhost/reports and http://localhost/reportserver need to be
excluded paths (if I remember the terminology correctly in WSS2) on a
SharePoint server.
You need to find the Managed Paths screen to create the excluded
paths.
That's the first step, I think.

Error in transport layer

When connection with excel (or proclarity) we are getting an error when browsing for the server

The first error is 'An error was encountered in the transport layer', when we click ok en give it a second try the error changes into 'Erros in the OLE DB provider. Could not connect to the redirector. Ensure that the SQLBrowser service is running on the 'xxx' server.'

I've installed a developper sql on my local machine, so i'm quite sure that the the most recent files are installed. I've even reinstalled the OLE DB driver for SSAS 9.0, as i found as a suggestion in another post.

The SqlServer browser service is running on the server, but the server is running as a default instance a SQL2000 (only db) and as a named instance a SQL2005 enterprise edition.

When using the Management studio i'm able to login to the ssas with my user authentication.

Any suggestions ...

Try installing SQL Server 2005 SP1 CTP from http://www.microsoft.com/sql/ctp_sp1.mspx

Error in the transport layer

Hello,

When i try to connect with excel with tcp/ip to an other computer where there is a cube, i've got this message:

'an error was encountered in the transport layer

Errors in the OLE DB provider

An error occured while loading the connection dialog box component for prompting'

I'm in mixed mode for the authentication and my user and password are in the olap administrator of the cube i want to browse.

I've got Windows XP sp2, SQL server 2005 Sp2 with SSAS developer edition, OWC 11.0 is installed and the OLE DB provider Analysis Service 9.0

on the disk) while attempting to expand the physical file.
Can anyone tell me how I can overcome this problem ?
Thx.The error is very spcific - you don't have enough space on the disk.
You can delete some files in order to make more space on the disk or
restore the database to a different disk.

you have enough space in physical hard drives you are going to restore.
Otherwise identify the right drives with space and
restore in that location.

error handling using JDBC DRIVER

Hi All,
I ammaking use of the microsoft JDBC driver.
In the SP, in a transaction when a error is encountered --> fatal error (PK violation / incompatible data types) then the control returns to the application abruptly.
the error handling within the SP is not carried out.
Any help on the same is appreciated.

If you are using Query Analyzer to execute the stored procedure, then you
will see the remainder of the stored procedure being processed. However,
this is not the case with both JDBC and ODBCTest (direct ODBC API calls).
As a test, I took the stored procedure from this post and added an INSERT
statement immediately after "set @.message='Username oder Email-Adresse
bereits registriert'". What I found is that even though the subsequent
code in the procedure was not shown in the JDBC and ODBCTest code, the
INSERT did, in fact, fire. I don't think you will get the other results
back to the client because the statement has been terminated by that point.
However, the INSERT results can be seen if you check the table after the
fact.
